Your visit

What actually happens in a session?

You alternate between the wood-fired sauna and the cold plunge, resting by the open fire in between. That cycle — hot, cold, rest — is contrast therapy.

You can go round as many times as you like within your session. There is no correct number.

Do I have to get in the cold water?

No. There's no pressure to use both — you can come for the heat of the sauna alone, or for the benefits of the ice bath.

What should I bring?

Swimwear, a towel, and something warm to put on afterwards. You will spend time outside between rounds, by the fire and the lake.

Where are you?

Whitley Road, Roby Mill, Skelmersdale, West Lancashire. WN8 0QT

Our Roby Mill site is about five miles from Wigan, tucked into the rural landscape on the edge of West Lancashire.

It is my first time — is that a problem?

Not at all. Start on a lower bench, keep the first cold dip short, and rest as long as you need between rounds. Your body tells you the pace.

Booking

How do I book?

Choose a date and time that suits you, then complete your booking in a few simple steps.

Can I come on my own?

Yes. Plenty of people come alone. If you would rather have the space to yourself or your group, ask us about a private session.

Health & safety

What if I am unwell on the day?

Please do not come to a session unwell — heat and cold both put load on the body. Get in touch and we will sort your booking out.

I have a health condition. Is sauna and cold plunge safe for me?

Heat and cold immersion affect blood pressure and heart rate. If you are pregnant, or have a heart condition, blood pressure condition, or any other condition you are being treated for, speak to your doctor before booking.

If you are unsure whether a session is right for you, email us at hello@siidde.com — we would rather answer than have you guess.

What does contrast therapy actually do?

Regular sauna and cold plunge sessions have been shown to reduce stress and lower cortisol, improve sleep quality, boost mood and mental clarity, support immune function and reduce inflammation, and build resilience.
